Description

The TIN Cap GPI 45/400 is a pharma-grade tinplate closure for glass pill and supplement bottles. It follows the GPI 45-400 thread standard and fits 150ml-300ml packer and pill glass bottles.

Material & Construction

High-quality electrolytic tinplate (tin-coated steel) gives the cap superior rigidity and a strong tamper-evident seal. As a result, it resists corrosion, moisture, and temperature fluctuations better than aluminum. This makes it ideal for applications that need a firmer, more robust closure.

Liner System

Base layer — EPE Liner (fixed): Our factory fits every cap with a permanent EPE (Expanded Polyethylene) foam liner. This wad liner never comes out or transfers to the bottle. Instead, it stays inside the cap for the product’s entire life. Its role is purely mechanical: it cushions the cap against the glass rim and absorbs torque during capping. As a result, it provides an even, reliable pressure seal that protects the contents from moisture and dust.

Optional layer — customer’s choice of PRESS Liner or IHS Liner: On top of the fixed EPE liner, customers can add one of the following liners. The choice depends on the sealing and tamper-evidence level they need:

  • PRESS Liner (Pressure Sensitive Liner): A liner with an adhesive facing that bonds to the bottle’s rim as you tighten the cap. It needs no special equipment. When you first remove the cap, the liner stays on the bottle neck, giving a clear, visible tamper-evident signal. It suits dry products such as capsules, tablets, and vitamins that don’t need a fully hermetic seal.
  • IHS Liner (Induction Heat Seal Liner): This liner has an aluminum foil layer. After filling, an induction sealing machine heat-bonds the foil to the bottle opening. The electromagnetic field heats the foil, fusing it permanently to the bottle rim and creating a hermetic, airtight, tamper-evident seal. This option offers the highest level of product protection and freshness retention, ideal for moisture-sensitive supplements and pharmaceutical products. However, it requires induction sealing equipment on the filling line.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the TIN Cap and the Aluminum Cap?

The TIN Cap uses tinplate (tin-coated steel), which gives extra rigidity and a firmer, more tamper-resistant seal, while the Aluminum Cap is lighter and 100% recyclable. Both fit the same GPI 45-400 thread.

Which liner comes with the TIN Cap GPI 45/400?

Every cap ships with a factory-fitted EPE foam liner. You can optionally add a PRESS Liner or IHS Liner on top for extra tamper-evidence.

Can I get custom colors or a logo on this cap?

Using Condition

Storage Before Use</em>
– Store in original packaging, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture
– Keep at ambient room temperature, away from heat sources

Capping Application
– Ensure bottle rim is clean and dry before capping
– Apply at moderate, consistent torque suited to your equipment
– Excessive torque may deform the liner; insufficient torque may compromise the seal

For IHS Liner Sealing
– Use a properly calibrated induction sealing machine
– Follow recommended power, speed, and dwell-time settings for your bottle/cap size
– Correct settings ensure a complete, uniform seal without overheating

Handling & Shelf Life
– Use within a reasonable period after delivery for optimal liner performance
– Contact our technical team for specific torque or induction settings for your filling line
